Cool! Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get onto the good stuff: reading, writing, tea and chocolate. Life is short, and you probably don’t care much about me… yet. I’m devilishly good-looking, so it’s only a matter of time.
Begging For Compliments From My Mom
I started this blog for two reasons, really. The first reason is because I want to advance my writing style and skills, opening up opportunities to market and express myself as a budding novelist; the other reason is because my good friend Kate, aka BookaneerKate, started a blog not too long ago, and it just burns me that she has a blog and I don’t and now everyone will love her more and she’ll sell her books first and then she’ll be J.K. Rowling rich and I’ll still be begging for compliments on my books from my mom. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!
In all seriousness, though, I previously ran a moderately successful blog about teaching singing to children, which was fun. Sadly, life sometimes has a way of up and changing on you, so the singing blog and I had to part ways. Now, however, with some great experience under my belt and new horizons calling, I’ve decided to try something new. Ink and Chocolate is my chance to share a little bit of the interests I’m very passionate about, most notably writing. Because putting myself out there on the internet is a growing experience that’s good for me (or so they tell me).
Reading, Writing, Tea and Chocolate
Here at Ink and Chocolate, you’ll find tips for writing that I’ve gathered from books and online articles. I’ll also include my own personal experiences learning how to become a better writer (I write fiction, so that’s what I’ll be dishing the goods out on) as well as my own personal brand of nerdy sass.
As a chocolate and tea lover (I mean, I reeeeeally love tea and chocolate) I’ll write all sorts of reviews, recommendations and little points of interest to make your tea guzzling, chocolate face-stuffing experiences better.
Finally, I’m obsessed with handwriting, fountain pens and whatever excuse I can find to use them. Usually I find them in the form of journaling and writing letters. Actual letters. Like, through the mail, with envelopes and stamps and everything. It’s glorious fun!
The Plan is to post a couple of times a week. One will be a thought-out post (you’ll soon learn about me and my Thinking, oh yes), and the other will be kind of a wild journal entry/word vomit about my week and writing progress. Like all great adventures, I’m not 100% certain the destination this blog will take, but I do have very exciting plans to release a story/novel by chapter each week that will be available only on here. It’s going to be awesome, and we all love a little extra awesome in our lives.
And maybe some contests. Because everybody loves free stuff.
Anyway, I hope you have an excellent day! Come on back in a few more days to see what new little nuggets of weird fantasticness the blog has in store for you (oooo, weird fantasticness, doesn’t that just sound like something you’d totally want to come back for!?).
