I used to hate dark chocolate. You may not be able to tell by the way I happily stuff my face with it all the time, but back in the day, my favourite chocolate in the whole world was the Cadbury Dairy Milk. When we decided to give a review for a different kind of chocolate than our usual dark variety, I immediately knew that this had to be the one.
Now, we try to make things fair by putting up similar chocolates, so the logical solution was the Jersey Milk chocolate, which I don’t recall having very much. Ya, this isn’t an unfair match at all…. Whatever. All’s fair in chocolate and war.
Last week I put up a poll for people to vote for their favourite chocolate death, and sort of kind of accidentally made the poll active for one day only. Oops. This week’s poll will be open until Monday, so plenty of time for votes. Speaking of new things, this format is pretty fun, hey? It was a lot of work to script, and filming was a little bit wild. The neighbours now think we’re crazy. No wait, they already thing we’re crazy, this just confirms it.
Back to the chocolate. We realize that everyone’s tastes are different, but we’re pretty confident in our chocolate tasting skills, so it was easy to find a clear winner for this battle. The video tells you who won, so if you haven’t watched it already, go do it. I’ll wait.
Most of our chocolates have a funny story, and this one is no exception. I’d bought the chocolates for this well in advance. Too much in advance, actually, because we kept eating them, and then had to buy them again. We did this three times in fact. By the day of filming, we’d eaten the last bunch and so Jonathan had to pick up more from the store… again. Now, I don’t know if we started a trend or something, but he had a tough time finding more. He had to go to two different stores, and even then the Jersey Milk only was available in a 4-pack. It’s a good thing we like chocolate.
Next week we’re pitting chocolates from Rocky Mountain House Chocolate Factory against each other. If you’d like to participate by deciding how the losing chocolate dies, go here to vote for your favourite chocolate death!
