That road trip was awesome! It went so quickly, because of all the games we were playing. This is good, because I hate traveling. Seriously, I hate it. The fun road trip games distracted me from my car-sickness and the three hours of perfectly flat terrain. Don’t get me wrong, as an Albertan girl I think it’s beautiful, but there’s only so much you can stare at before your eyes start to cross. It kind of feels a little like watching paint dry.
Our first game was Cows On My Side, which, as we explain in the video, is a somewhat difficult game to play in Alberta. Where the topography is almost perfectly flat. Where cows can be seen everywhere. Where your husband has better eyesight than you. I still maintain that he cheated… somehow. Still, it was a fun game to play, and once we kind of got used to it, the kilometres flew by as we endured a high alert at all times in order to spot those cows!
We didn’t show it in the video, but we also played a game called Fortunately/Unfortunately, in which you make a story that swings from fortunate to unfortunate. Unfortunately, if one of you is terrible at thinking of creative things, it can drag on. Fortunately, one of you may have a wild imagination and swing the story into unexpected twists. Unfortunately these swings may simply be the sign of early onset manic depression. Fortunately, it’s no big thang, because us Judds love each and every person for who they are, especially if they’re weirdos like us.
Finally, our Ninja Masters tasked us with getting five answers to bad movie plots explained. We bounced ideas back and forth until we came up with some winners, and then posted the on Facebook. Thanks to Kelsey and Nicole, our number one fans! They took a crack at almost every question, and got most of them right! Woo wooooo! Unfortunately, we didn’t get all the answers before we made it to Calgary, so we lost. Fortunately, it’s okay because it means more fun punishments for your viewing pleasure! Unfortunately, the image of us grovelling will now be burned into your retinas forever.
We’d love to know what games you play on road trips. Is there a favourite you have that you think we should try?
